American Coatings, headquartered in Tomball, Texas, has entered into a licensing agreement with AVF Paint Company of Willemstad, Curacao. AVF will manufacture and distribute specific Ameican Coatings products in the Caribbean. Established in 1960, AVF was acquired in 2005 by Inversiones Mundial, owners of various chemical and coatings manufacturers who distribute throughout Central and South America.
"We are excited to be able to spread the American Coatings name and products in that part of the world" said American Coatings Sales Manager Bill Osters.

American Coatings, located in Tomball, Texas is pleased to announce that it has reached agreement on the purchase of the assets of The Unicoat International Corporation to include all real property, chemical formulations and technology.
For more than 20 years Unicoat has been a leader in providing anticorrosive coatings for Refineries, Chemical Plants, Ships and Barges, Off-Shore Rigs., and Terminals. Most recently Unicoat has pioneered a new technology to efficiently repair corrosive damage to leaking pontoons on Floating Roof Storage tanks. Unicoat's UI7500 Flotation Foam applied to the interior of a pontoon stops leaks and corrosion, prevents emission of reportable fumes and virtually eliminated any chance of a unit's roof sinking and causing damage to the tank bottom thereby saving costly repairs and environmental spills.
American Coatings has been providing unique quality coatings for both interior and exterior applications to various OEM markets throughout the U.S. for more than a quarter century. American services such varied markets as refineries and Chemical Plants, steel Containers, Heavy Equipment, Oilfield, Pipeline and Truck and Trailer. American Coatings also has an affiliated company, Railcar Coatings of America, that provides specialized coatings to the railcar markets in the United Stated, Canada and Mexico.
Horace Thomas the founder of Unicoat was a former business partner of Moody Adams the father of one of American Coatings founders Jim Adams. The agreement calls for Horace to continue to promote the Unicoat brand along with the Heavy Duty offering of products and linings of American Coatings.
