Reconstruction Updates

                                                             Updates on the Reconstruction

To: Our Friends

March 15, 2011 update
Our plans and drawings have received preliminary approval from local authorities and we are now moving into the bidding stage of the site reconstruction. Our R&D group has finished their relocation to our original plant just east of our facility and has resumed research projects. Our first piece of manufacturing equipment was received this week for this facility and we anticipate that we will be in full scale production there in the next 60 days. This additional capacity will supplement our South Houston operation while our new plant on Mahaffey Rd. is being constructed. Our output at our South Houston plant has continued to grow. They are now operating at approximately the same level of production as we were before the fire. Our current estimates are that the reconstruction of our new buildings will be complete in late summer or early fall. When all is complete we will have the capacity between the 3 facilities for 4 - 5 times prior levels of production.
We will keep you posted on our progress and once again thank all of you for your continued loyalty and support
.

December 8, 2010 update
Today we completed the purchase of certain assets and technology of the Unicoat International Corporation. Also, since our   last update we have entered into a license agreement with AVF Paints in Curacao for the manufacture and sale of American Coatings products in the Caribbean. The press releases involving the two transactions will be published in several trade publications in the coming months. Click here if you would like to read them now.
We continue to work with the T.C.E.Q., architects and engineers in the design of our new facility. Our plant in South Houston continues to manufacture all of our coatings. We are manufacturing at about 90% of last years level. We would also like to report that we have moved our research and development operations into a facility close to Tomball. The R&D group will be moving to the building that housed our original plant back in 1985. We will also be adding some additional manufacturing capacity to this facility to supplement our South Houston operation.
The American Coatings family would like to thank all of you for your continued support this year and we hope all of you have a safe and blessed Christmas.

September 30, 2010
Two months have now gone by on our road to reconstruction. Here is quick update. The demo people are currently working on the demolition and cleanup of the old facility. The schedule calls for their work to be completed about mid October. We have moved two modular temporary buildings to the Tomball site. These buildings will office our accounting and administrative functions and allow us to be on site during the reconstruction. The process of reissuing our permits is underway with the T.C.E.Q.
At our South Houston facility we continue to work long and hard to rebuild our inventory and estimate we are 70% of where we would like to be. We are in the design and permitting phase of our new facility with an Architect and our goal is to be manufacturing products in our brand new home in Tomball early next year. We'll keep you posted. Thank all of you for your continued support.

August 17, 2010 update
About 30 days have passed since our fire. We thought we should update you on our progress. We continue to work as fast as we can to rebuild our inventory. Our production level is up to about 40% of normal and we expect it to be 70% - 80% in the next 30 - 45 days. We have spent considerable time over the last 30 days meeting with arson investigators, insurance personnel, and environmental companies but that phase of this ordeal seems to be winding down. We should be awarding the contract for demolition of the Tomball facility in the next few days, which will be the first step in our reconstruction.
We will be able to spend more time focusing on increasing our stock levels and production capacity at our South Houston
facility. All the American Coatings family have been working long hours in attempting to bring you the products you need when you need them. We aren't satisfied with the results so far but we do feel our service is slowly getting better day by day. We want you to know we are giving it everything we've got to take care of your needs and we thank you for your loyalty. This ordeal has truly made all of us appreciate our customers more than ever. Your loyalty is not something we take lightly and we want you to know we are doing our best.

July 22, 2010
On Saturday July 17, at around 2:30 a.m. our facility in Tomball was totally destroyed by fire. An individual was arrested in an unrelated matter in close proximity to the scene and an arson investigation is in process.
On Monday July 19 we moves equipment and people to our South Houston Facility. Our first batch was produced July 21. We will continue to use this facility in Tomball over the coming months.
Words can't express our gratitude for the words of encouragement and thoughtful prayers that many of you have spoken in behalf of the American Coatings family. While there will be some bumps in the road as we rebuild our inventory we want all of you to know that with God's continued blessings we will continue our recovery to full strength over the next several months. We are extremely concerned with getting inventory in stock for you orders and are currently working  to that goal. You are important to us and we hope to be "on line" shortly. We will be glad to work with you to recommend alternates or other sources of supply if we cannot meet your immediate needs. We are sorry for this and hope you understand.
